
We firstly analyse the international framework and mandate through Internet-based research, then we focus on the Italian context through: the collection of ten Italian business experiences in the field semi-structured interviews with Italian businesses, public institutes and no profit organisations a survey on the perceived relation linking business and BESs.


The central purpose of the present Report is to provide a learning opportunity for all actors concerned and to increase the body of knowledge related to the practical implementation of the management/safeguarding of BES by businesses, and related outcomes.

All businesses, regardless their core activity, directly or indirectly impact or depend on biodiversity and ecosystem services (BESs).
